Natalie lives in carmel valley with her husband jesse, son jason (6), and step daughter, savannah (15). she was born and raised here in san diego and come from a really big family. she is one of five siblings, one of them being an identical twin sister. (who you may see at the barre from time to time!) she moved to los angeles to pursue a career in the event industry. she landed a great job that led me to be a part of lots of amazing events like the oscars, vma’s, kids choice awards, private parties etc. it was such a great experience and being in the event industry is truly what she wanted to do. but once she had my son everything changed for them. she really wanted her kids to grow up in san diego like they did and be closer to family so that they could enjoy their kids too.
While she lived in la, she really started getting into fitness. she fell in love with a workout called piloxing. it was everything she enjoyed rolled into one class, pilates, dance and boxing. she got really involved with the company and even filmed their workout dvd’s with them. when we moved back to san diego there was nothing like piloxing here so she decided she would become an instructor and teach it myself. once she started teaching, she realized she didn’t love teaching like she loved taking class. so, she wanted to find a new workout she enjoyed and loved just as much. she tried a few workouts and none that really gave her the same feeling that made her want to keep coming back for more. that’s when she came across barre! it involves all the things she enjoyed and more.
When she’s not working out at barre, she is working on their charity, one more win, which helps underserved high school athletes with necessary resources and equipment. being a classroom mom in her sons class, a team parent on her sons sports teams and driving lots of teenagers to and from. in her spare time she plans birthday parties and events (call her if you need a party planner)! her husband and her think they are joanna and chip from fixer upper and love doing different projects to their house and has found her other calling, interior decorating.

Emiley’s favorite barre position:
“My favorite barre position is definitely back dancing. i love it not only because it means that i’m almost done with class, but it really works everything. especially when the lights go off i can really push myself to finish.”
Emiley’s favorite non-barre activity:
“when i’m not at barre i like to dance, swim/surf in the ocean, box, travel, go to concerts and hangout with my friends.”

“I can speak spanish. i’ve been pooped on by a bird nearly every time i go to the beach, its really fun.”
Growing up she always had a passion for “sweating daily”. she cheered in high school, ran track and field and continued in college with soley working out at the gym. she soon realized that running on a treadmill or an elyptical was not enough and the muscle memory would make the majority of work outs lesser than. marissa fell in love with running long distances and trained for half marathons, biked, and in general tried to move as much as possible. she wanted to live a healthy lifestyle especially when she reached her mid 20s and realized she needed to tone her body and increase her overall health.
In 2015, marissa discovered studio barre and fell in love with the fast paced and ever changing work out. she adored the work out for making her feel the burn while listening to good music and feeling that studio barre shake. she got in the best shape since she was a 17 year old cheerleader in high school and she knew she found the work out that would stick forever.
When marissa is not working as a barre{ista} at studio barre, she is watching little ones as a nanny. marissa cares for babies and has extensive knowledge in infant care, early childhood development and sleep training. she loves helping families find their calm and she specializes in teaching families sleep patterns for newborns.
Marissa loves greeting clients at studio barre and cheering them on as they reach their fitness goals. she has a great appreciation for a healthy and active lifestyle and loves to show others by example. she takes barre about four times per week and runs on the beach for cardio. other than fitness, she enjoys redecorating her studio, red wine, cooking, the beach, live music, and being outside as much as possible.
